HDR Photography

A lot of people that look at my pictures always ask “How do you get that cool effect” or “What are you doing to your photos?” So I thought I would explain a little about HDR Photography.

High Dynamic Range Imaging (HDRI or HDR) is a set of methods used in imaging and photography to allow a greater dynamic range between the lightest and darkest areas of an image than current standard digital imaging methods or photographic methods. In easy terms it is setting a series of exposures (from over exposing to under exposing) which then you “stack” the images using a a program such as Photoshop. Some cameras have an auto exposure bracketing (AEB) feature which makes this process easy. In the end you get a result like this.
